- Your Travel Industry ID is required at check in.
- The discount is non-commissionable.
- The rate is only available via the Travel Consultant Connection site, or by calling the Central Reservation Office (CRO).
Qualified Rates, such as the American Automobile Association (AAA), the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), or government rates (GOV) are available when you use a rate qualifier in the GDS system.
If you are using www.ihg.com or another of IHG's brand web sites, Qualified Rates will be available upon request for your clients who meet the rate requirements. If you request a specific rate, such as AAA, that rate (if available) displays first, followed by the next three available rates. Qualified Rates can be viewed like any negotiated rate should a client qualify or request it.
Public Retail Rates
Public Retail Rates available to your clients include the Best Flex Rate and the Advance Purchase Rate.
What is a Best Flex Rate?
Best Flex Rates are the best available unrestricted, publicly available rates. Some restrictions may apply based on hotel policies.
What is an Advance Purchase Rate?
Advance Purchase Rates require full payment for the entire stay at the time of the booking. Prepayment is charged to the client's credit card, and is non-refundable.
Negotiated / Contracted Rates
Negotiated Rates are a set, reduced price for rooms negotiated by companies or agencies with hotels, and are generally offered to business clients. The goal of these negotiated rates is to get business travelers into the hotel by offering the incentive in the form of lower prices for return business. Many negotiated rates include amenities, so be sure to check the availability display for any amenities specific to the selected hotel.
IHG offers two types of negotiated rates: Flat and Strategic. These rates are negotiated between IHG and your client, and are made available to you with a GDS rate access code. If your client has negotiated a Flat Rate, the rate will be fixed for a specified time frame, regardless of changes in supply and demand.
If your client had negotiated a Strategic Pricing Rate, a new option available with IHG hotels, the rate will be a defined discount off the Retail Rate. The Strategic Pricing Rate will always be lower than the Retail Rate. This discount option is available based on the client's utilization of hotels for business travel, as well as other factors. Strategic Pricing offers your business travel segment client maximum flexibility in the contract rate, and minimizes a hotels need to make seasonal rate changes. In addition, Strategic Pricing provides your client yearlong access to a consistent, reliable discount structure, as well as long-term cost savings.
